AEW’s Worlds End aired live from the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida, offering plenty of excitement for fans. That packed card included a heated grudge match for the International Championship.
Konosuke Takeshita defended his International Championship against Powerhouse Hobbs at Worlds End. This match was the fifth of the night, right after MJF was able to beat Adam Cole to secure the Dynamite Diamond Ring for another year.
This match got started off fast as Powerhouse Hobbs was able to establish his dominance with a massive shoulder tackle. Don Callis also sat at the commentary table to give his take on the proceedings as they went down.
There were multiple near falls during this match, as both competitors were inches away from closing out the match. In the end, Takeshita was able to pull off a clean win, but Powerhouse Hobbs also put up an outstanding effort.
Powerhouse Hobbs was on a mission to get back at Don Callis, who cut him from his stable during a lengthy stay off television. Once Hobbs returned on the November 6 episode of AEW Dynamite, he wanted to dismantle Callis’ stable of heels. Worlds End was a longtime coming for the big man, but Konosuke Takeshita wasn’t going to let go of that title without a fight, and some heel shenanigans as well.
