Kit Wilson wasn’t standing beside The Miz on SmackDown this week, and now he’s explaining exactly why.

Following WWE’s trip to Barcelona, Spain, Wilson took to social media to apologize for missing the show, calling it the first absence of his WWE career and admitting the situation hit him hard.

According to Wilson, a series of travel issues prevented him from making it to Europe. WWE offered its own explanation during SmackDown, joking that Wilson was unable to travel because he packed too much moisturizer in his luggage. After the show, Wilson addressed the situation directly on X.

“I’m absolutely gutted. This is the first time I’ve ever missed a show. At this point, it honestly feels like I’m cursed and everything is falling apart.”

Wilson also apologized to his on-screen mentor, The Miz.

“I’d also like to apologize to my mentor, The Miz, for letting him down, it won’t happen again.”

The comment about being “cursed” appeared to be a reference to Danhausen, who has been tormenting Wilson and The Miz for weeks. The rivalry escalated at WWE Backlash when Danhausen and Minihausen scored a victory over the duo.

Wilson wasn’t finished addressing the situation either. He also had a message for wrestling media outlets that quickly picked up the story.

“Leave me alone. Stop the articles. Yes, I had over 100ml of moisturizers and creams in my bag… but Kit’s gotta look good.”

The post immediately turned an unfortunate travel issue into comedy, while also leaning into the ongoing storyline surrounding Wilson’s recent string of bad luck.

WWE’s European tour continues next week with SmackDown in Bologna, Italy following Clash in Italy. Whether Wilson finally breaks his apparent curse remains to be seen, but he’s certainly hoping his next trip goes a lot smoother.

Do you think Kit Wilson’s travel issues were just bad luck, or is Danhausen somehow responsible for all of this chaos? Leave your feedback in the comments below.
