Kevin Owens is heading back to NXT territory — and WWE is bringing him home to Canada for it.
WWE has announced that Owens will appear at the NXT live event on Saturday, October 17 at the Slush Puppie Centre in Gatineau, Quebec. WWE’s official event listing confirms the NXT stop for that night, putting Owens back around the brand where he once ruled as champion.
Owens is being advertised alongside several current NXT names, including Grayson Waller, Tony D’Angelo, Cruz Montana, Zaria, Shiloh Hill and The Vanity Project trio of Jackson Drake, Ricky Smokes and Brad Baylor.
This isn’t some random NXT connection for Owens either. He has deep history with the brand after holding the NXT Championship and becoming one of the biggest stars to come out of that era. His last in-ring appearance for NXT came all the way back at NXT TakeOver: WarGames in November 2019, when Owens was revealed as the mystery partner for Tommaso Ciampa, Keith Lee and Donovan Dijak. That surprise return gave fans one of the biggest reactions of the night, and now he’s getting another chance to step back into the NXT environment nearly seven years later.
Before that October 17 appearance, Owens has a packed stretch ahead of him. He is scheduled for Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown and then heads straight into the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match at WWE Money in the Bank 2026 on October 10 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. That means Owens will go from one of WWE’s biggest premium live event matches directly into an NXT live event appearance one week later.
