WWE has a lot of plans in the pipeline, and the January 5th episode of SmackDown did not disappoint with their New Year’s Revolution special. That episode of the blue brand also brought a lot of momentum toward the Royal Rumble event.
Kevin Owens and Santos Escobar battled during the first match of SmackDown’s New Year’s Revolution episode this week. That match was a hard-fought battle, with the winner getting a US Title shot at the Royal Rumble event.
Logan Paul was at ringside for this match. He talked a lot of smack, but did not mention his CryptoZoo scandal at all. He focused on Santos Escobar and Kevin Owens’ match as he mocked both competitors throughout the contest.
Kevin Owens won in the end, solidifying his match against Logan Paul in St. Petersburg. That match was hinted at a while ago, and it was expected that KO would win the tournament.
