While many fans are speculating that the headbutt from Kevin Owens to Vince McMahon on Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live was botched, that doesn’t appear to be the case.
Dave Meltzer discussed the incident Wrestling Observer Radio and reported that the incident was indeed planned even though blood isn’t allowed to be shown on WWE television. There has been speculation among fans that Vince may have bladed during the segment, but Bryan Alvarez indicated on Wrestling Observer Live that he believes Vince was busted open the hard way.
Normally when a talent headbutts their opponent, they bump their thumb instead of actually connecting with the opponent’s head. That wasn’t the case on Tuesday. If you re-watch the footage you can clearly see that Vince took a clean shot to the head. This shouldn’t surprise anyone as Vince is notorious for wanting his talents to give them their all when they come into contact with him for segments.
