Kevin Nash isn’t backing down when it comes to defending WWE’s current creative direction.
During the latest episode of Kliq This, the Hall of Famer clapped back at claims that WWE’s weekly product is repetitive, using Gunther’s recent title win over Jey Uso as his proof that change is happening—just more subtly than fans realize.
Nash’s co-host, Sean Oliver, argued that WWE storylines often feel stuck in place. But Nash pushed back, pointing to recent developments as evidence of progression, especially when it comes to Jey Uso’s current arc.
“Gunther just became champion and took the belt off of Jey. And Jey fought like a babyface. There’s a lot of people that I know—his dad included—that are not happy with how his son was booked. And I know there’s other people that feel that way.”
He acknowledged the behind-the-scenes frustration but made it clear that storyline shifts are happening whether fans notice or not.
“But I just feel that—you know, people are saying it’s still the same—I’m thinking, ‘No, it’s not,’ because Jey’s not the champ.”
Nash then took aim at fans who claim nothing ever changes but are only watching the show in fast-forward mode.
“If you watch it on 4X, then you’re not going to catch the [expletive] nuance. I’m not saying you do,” he added to Oliver. “I’m saying to people that do.”
Nash believes fans expecting weekly shockers are missing the value of slow-build storytelling—and WWE’s product is moving forward in ways that reward patience.
