Josh Alexander had a successful run in TNA, but it seems almost certain that he will be leaving once his contract expires on February 14 and he will be a free agent from February 15th. However, he has now shared his goals in case he decides to re-sign with the company.

While speaking on Pro Wrestling Wire, Alexander revealed that if he re-signs with TNA, his goal would be to reclaim the TNA World Championship and properly finish the reign he had to end due to injury. He admitted it was disappointing not to win the title back but acknowledged that wrestling is unpredictable, with many deserving talents in TNA.

“It’d be the same thing that it was when I came back from my tricep tear, just to regain the TNA World Championship and finish that historic reign I was on because it didn’t end the way I wanted it to. I had to give it up, I had to relinquish the title because I tore my tricep and that was not the way I wanted that reign to end. I don’t think it’s the way anybody wanted it to end.

I just never got it back in that year and a half after coming back from injury and it’s something that is certainly disappointing but the wrestling business is the wrestling business, it ain’t just about me, there’s a ton of moving parts and there’s a ton of people in that company that are so over and so talented and deserve that championship along the way. It didn’t end the way I wanted it to, so that’s something that will eat away at me.”

Josh Alexander’s second reign as TNA World Champion lasted 336 days but was cut short due to a bicep injury that forced him to relinquish the title. Despite having multiple chances to regain the championship, he never won it back.

Before his contract expires, Alexander is scheduled to face Eric Young on the February 13th episode of TNA iMPACT!, a match that is being promoted as his final appearance in the company. Therefore, we’ll have to wait and see what Alexander will do in the end, as his future remains uncertain as his contract expiry looms.
