Jim Cornette Gets Major Endorsement for WWE Hall of Fame Induction

Jim Cornette just got a big-name endorsement for the WWE Hall of Fame—and this one came from someone who’s been there since the Memphis days.

While speaking to Wrestling Epicenter, Jimmy Hart made it crystal clear where he stands on Cornette’s Hall of Fame credentials. As soon as the topic came up, Hart didn’t hesitate before saying Cornette deserves to be in.

“Yeah, absolutely. I think anybody that contributed to anything, whether it was music, production, wrestling… just anybody that was involved. I think Jimmy Cornette should be in the Hall of Fame. I love Jimmy, man.”

Hart wasn’t just talking as someone who watched Cornette’s career from afar. The two go back decades, and Hart reminded everyone that they broke into the business together in Memphis long before either became household names in professional wrestling.

“You know, like I said, Jimmy Cornette started in Memphis with us.”

Although the conversation briefly shifted to Hart’s own Hall of Fame induction and legendary WWE composer Jim Johnston, Hart circled right back to Cornette before wrapping up his answer. He wasn’t interested in leaving any room for interpretation.

“But I love Jimmy Cornette, man. Like I said, Jimmy, I hope he gets in the Hall of Fame whenever he wants to go in because he’s awesome.”

Considering Cornette’s often-rocky relationship with WWE over the years, Hall of Fame discussions surrounding his name never stay quiet for very long. Between managing stars like Yokozuna, Vader and The British Bulldog, working behind the scenes, and helping develop future names like John Cena, Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton during OVW’s partnership with WWE, there’s never been much debate over his résumé.

The question has always been whether WWE would eventually decide to honor it. So, Jimmy Hart clearly thinks that decision should already have been made.
