Janel Grant opened up about barely leaving her home and struggling to keep it together just two days before her legal team signed off on dismissing her federal lawsuit against Vince McMahon and WWE.
The Instagram post did not mention the case by name, but the timing gives a rare look at what Grant said she was dealing with before the legal battle moved behind closed doors. Grant shared a message about surviving a difficult period and entering a new chapter after everything she had been through.
“You’re going into a season where you’re about to experience breakthrough after breakthrough because what you went through didn’t break you.”
In the second slide, Grant admitted she had been struggling after what she called a “perfect storm” of problems hitting her at once. She thanked people for continuing to check on her and said their messages had helped her feel less alone.
“I’ll be honest and say it—I’ve been struggling. It happened to be a perfect storm of everything and all at once. Thank you for checking in with me and for your patience. I also received a lot of questions, and I hope this helps to clear up any confusion.”
Grant said people could continue contacting her and compared her life to Anderson Cooper’s podcast about grief. She then revealed just how isolated she had become during the year.
“It’s completely okay to continue reaching out and sending messages. I’m communicating the same way I have been. I’m grateful for your messages and for your support.”

Two days later, Grant’s attorney joined lawyers for McMahon and WWE in filing a voluntary dismissal with prejudice. The move will end the public federal case while allowing all sides to continue their claims and defenses through private arbitration.
Grant accused McMahon of sexual assault and trafficking while alleging WWE enabled or concealed his conduct. McMahon has denied wrongdoing, and WWE has disputed Grant’s allegations. Moving the case into arbitration means much of what happens next could stay out of public view.
Grant’s Instagram post now stands as one of her final public messages before the federal case was set on a path toward closure. While the court fight is disappearing from public view, her post made it clear that the personal toll has not simply gone away.
