Jade Cargill is done waiting for permission to bring back the Baddie Section. Months after revealing that her original WWE pitch for the concept never happened, Cargill says she’s bringing it back herself because she owns it—and she’s already calling on Atlanta.
Cargill took to Twitter on August 31 and made it clear that she’s tired of playing by the rules. Whatever stopped the Baddie Section from happening before apparently isn’t stopping her now.
“I’m tired of playing by the rules I’m bringing the baddie section back because I want to and I own it! End of story ATLANTA WYA 🗣️📣”
That’s a pretty big change from where things stood just a few months ago. During an April appearance on The Joe Budden Podcast, Cargill revealed that she had pitched WWE on bringing her Baddie Section concept to the company. The idea was to put influencers and other big name women in premium ringside seats, using their presence to attract new eyes to WWE while potentially opening opportunities for sponsorships.
“I was trying to do this whole ‘Baddie section,’ right… or we could name it whatever. But what I was gonna do was have beautiful women, because beautiful women attract men.”
Cargill saw the idea as much more than something that looked good on television. She believed influencers could expose WWE to people who wouldn’t normally watch wrestling and potentially turn some of them into fans.
“My job is to get people who don’t watch wrestling into wrestling. They’re like, ‘Damn, who is that? Let me watch wrestling. What’s wrestling about?’ I wanted to do that. It didn’t happen, but I hope it happens in the future because I want to bring more eyes to the product. I feel like, ‘Yes I’m a wrestler. I’m amazing. We’re gonna have our core fanbase whether they like it or not. But my job is to get people who don’t watch wrestling into wrestling. They’re like, ‘Damn, who is that? Let me watch wrestling. What’s wrestling about? Oh s*** we got Jaida Parker? We got this person? We got that person?’”
Cargill hasn’t explained exactly what her revived Baddie Section will look like or when fans will first see it, but calling out Atlanta certainly makes it sound like she already has something in mind. This time, she isn’t pitching the idea—she’s saying it’s coming back because she wants it back.
