Backlash 2026 went down at the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida. The main event all came down to Roman Reigns defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu.

The two family members battled in front of a packed crowd, who chanted the entire match. “Let’s Go Jacob! and “OTC” chants rang out as the two started to feel each other out in the opening minutes. The two brawled around the ring, but then eventually returned to get back to business.

This match included Roman eating a powerbomb through the announce table, but then he got back in the ring and nailed a spear for a near fall. Roman tried for a second spear, but Fatu hit a Samoan Slam and a moonsault for a near fall.

The contest kept going, and Roman was locked in a Tongan Death Grip. The turnbuckle was ripped off, but then Roman Reigns nailed a spear to get the clean win and retain the title.

After the match was over, Jacob Fatu latched on the Tongan Death Grip once again. The referee tried to pry him off, and then the official ate a Samoan Slam from Fatu. WWE Officials ran down to break it up, but Jacob Fatu kicked a few of them, threw Adam Pearce out of the ring, and then latched on the Tongan Death Grip to Roman Reigns once again.
