IShowSpeed isn’t making WWE fans wait much longer. After spending months teasing that he could eventually take wrestling more seriously, Speed now says he’s coming back—and apparently it’s happening “very soon.”
While speaking on his YouTube channel on August 18, IShowSpeed was directly asked by a fan when he plans to return to WWE. This time, he didn’t dance around it.
“Bro, I’m coming back to WWE soon, bro. Don’t worry, bro. WWE x Speed is coming back very soon. Very soon.”
Speed didn’t reveal exactly when or where that return will happen, but it’s a considerably stronger statement than what he was saying only a couple of months ago.
Back in June, Speed told The Pat McAfee Show that he could see himself eventually committing much more seriously to WWE, although he was still figuring out what direction he wanted his career to take.
“I genuinely think at some point in my career, I will take WWE a bit more seriously and actually be able to deliver my full self into it and immerse myself in it.”
At the time, that sounded like something Speed was keeping in his back pocket for later. Now “later” might be getting considerably closer. Speed already got his biggest taste of WWE at WrestleMania 42, where he threw himself into the action instead of simply making a celebrity appearance. His involvement earned praise backstage for how seriously he approached the opportunity.
There still isn’t a confirmed date attached to whatever WWE and Speed have planned next. But Speed isn’t talking about whether he’ll come back anymore. He’s telling fans WWE x Speed is happening again—and twice made sure they heard the words “very soon.”
