Many fans believed that Indi Hartwell was set for success after her main roster call-up, but things didn’t go as expected. She struggled to make an impact and didn’t achieve much before her release last year. In fact, Hartwell has now claimed that WWE never really had any plans for her on the main roster.

While speaking to Busted Open Radio, Indi Hartwell was asked if WWE had any plans to involve her in a story on the main roster after her call up, or if it was simply a wait-and-see situation. Hartwell revealed that it was a wait-and-see situation and she never got much information about what was next for her.

Hartwell felt it might have been her fault for not asking more questions. As the new person on the roster, she was careful not to cause any problems and just did whatever was asked of her.

“Yeah, it was kind of a wait-and-see situation. I really didn’t hear anything, and maybe that’s on me for not pushing for more information. But I was kind of like the new girl there—I always felt like I was walking on eggshells the whole time. I didn’t want to rock the boat. I was just happy to do whatever was asked of me.”

While mentioning there were talks about bringing The Way back together, their segments kept getting cut, moved to Raw Talk, or removed completely. Over time, she started getting calls saying she wasn’t needed for TV that week, which made her worry about being released.

Hartwell admitted that she always had a fear of getting released, and just when she finally started feeling confident, she was let go from the company. The Australian star once again reiterated the fact that when it comes to plans, she never heard anything.

“When I got called up, I think there were talks to put The Way back together, but slowly, every week, our segment would get cut or moved to Raw Talk, and then eventually, it would just get cut completely. Sometimes, I would get a call saying I wasn’t needed for TV that week, so I wouldn’t be traveling. That’s when I really started to get scared, thinking, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m going to get released.’

I always had that fear in the back of my mind—not that I was manifesting it, but I was always worried about it. It wasn’t until maybe my last two weeks in WWE that I finally felt comfortable and confident, thinking, ‘Oh yeah, I’m good now.’ And then that’s when it happened. So, as for plans, I never really heard anything.”

Indi Hartwell has also made it very clear that she is confident about returning to WWE one day, but that might not be happening anytime soon. Despite her disappointing WWE run, Hartwell is still only 28 years old and has plenty of time to rebuild her career, so we’ll have to wait and see how she will revitalize her wrestling career in the coming months.
