The Ilja Dragunov WWE contract story making the rounds online is completely false.
There is no legitimate contract issue involving Dragunov, and the claim that started circulating was simply made up. The account that posted it, @MaverickTDM, did not have sourcing behind the information and later described it as an “opinion.”
It wasn’t an opinion. It was presented as a factual update about Dragunov’s WWE contract, and it was not true. Dragunov’s real status has already been a major topic because he has been absent from WWE television for months. Back in July, it was reported that Dragunov was expected back “sooner than later.”
It was also had also previously noted that Dragunov had been training at the Hart Dungeon in Canada and there was no known indication that an injury was keeping him off television. That remains the situation.
There is no credible information indicating that Dragunov’s WWE contract is in trouble, expiring, or creating any kind of issue behind the scenes. The contract story that circulated online was fake from the start. For now, fans are still waiting on Dragunov’s actual WWE return, but there is no reason to connect that absence to a contract problem.
