Corey Graves has been a key WWE commentator for years, but he previously made headlines after showing frustration in now-deleted tweets about being moved to NXT. However, he has since adjusted well to his new role and Vic Joseph has now revealed how he played a part in helping Graves settle into NXT.

While speaking on the Getting Over podcast, Vic Joseph talked about the challenges Corey Graves faced when returning to NXT after sharing his frustrations about moving to NXT. Joseph said Graves needed a fresh start and time to relax.

Joseph remembered how they used to travel together and talk about how great it would be to call shows as a team. When Graves went to NXT, Joseph talked to Graves and reminded them of their promise, which made Graves realize the importance of his role.

“I think he needed to have a fresh perspective and take a deep breath. One thing we’ve always talked about—back when we used to travel together—was how cool it would be to call shows together one day. And I think once he and I had that conversation, it was like, ‘Dude, this is what we’ve always talked about.’ He kind of went, ‘Yeah, you’re right.’ So I helped him.”

At first, it was tough for Graves to adjust to his new role, but Joseph said things are much smoother now. Since they have a three-person team, Graves doesn’t have to do everything on his own anymore. Each of them brings something different, and they all work together to make the show better.

“I think the challenge for Corey was learning how to settle into this new role. But now, you’re starting to see that seamless transition. He doesn’t have to carry as much weight anymore—he can take a deep breath, step back, and recognize that there are three of us. Three unique individuals, three distinct personalities, all working toward one goal, for one show.”

Even Michael Cole recently commented on Corey Graves’ controversy surrounding his tweets and frustration and noted that Graves and WWE were working things out. Corey Graves is doing well as an NXT commentator, even though his past issues are still being talked about. It’s unclear if he will return to the main roster commentary team, but fans are just glad to see him settling into NXT.
