GTA 6 is still a few months away, but wrestling fans have already found something pretty familiar buried inside Rockstar’s massive new look at the game. One backyard wrestling scene even appears to borrow a move straight from John Cena’s playbook.
On August 27, Netflix premiered Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, giving fans a 27-minute look at the game ahead of its November 19 release. The footage was captured on PS5 and was released through Netflix first before its wider release through Rockstar’s official channels.
Among all the cars, characters and chaos was a sneak peek at what looks like an outdoor backyard wrestling setup. The footage shows wrestlers competing inside a makeshift ring while people gather around to watch. But it’s one particular move that will immediately catch the attention of wrestling fans.
One wrestler gets his opponent across his shoulders before throwing him down with a move that looks a whole lot like John Cena’s Attitude Adjustment. The wrestling reference was noticeable enough that it quickly started getting attention following the preview.
It’s only a small moment in nearly half an hour of footage, but that’s exactly the kind of detail Rockstar loves stuffing into GTA games. Whether the backyard wrestling scene is something players can actually participate in, part of a mission or simply something happening in the world hasn’t been revealed yet.
There’s also plenty of time for fans to find more. GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026, marking the first new mainline Grand Theft Auto game since GTA V arrived all the way back in 2013. Thirteen years later, Rockstar is finally heading back into the world of GTA—and apparently somebody spent that time learning the Attitude Adjustment.
