Grayson Waller isn’t waiting until WWE NXT goes on the air to remind everyone who’s running the show. With CM Punk, John Cena and Cody Rhodes all scheduled to appear tonight, the NXT Champion has already laid down some ground rules for his special guests.
Ahead of the November 4 episode of WWE NXT, Waller posted a video declaring that the WWE Performance Center now belongs to him. After defeating Tony D’Angelo at Halloween Havoc, Waller made it clear that he considers himself the man in charge and expects everyone visiting his territory to show some respect.
“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Grayson Waller Performance Center. Now, Tony D’s gone. This is officially my house, and tonight I’m having a housewarming party. There’s some big guests coming. CM Punk, Cody Rose, John Cena. I’m very excited to have you all. But just make sure when you get here, you knock on the door and you wipe your feet, and you show me the respect that I deserve. Stay real.”
Waller’s comments come just hours before he’s scheduled to defend the NXT Championship against CM Punk. The match was announced at Halloween Havoc after Punk appeared in a video challenging Waller, setting up his first match inside an NXT ring in more than 16 years.
John Cena is also scheduled to appear on tonight’s show, while Cody Rhodes will present the Dusty Cup to the winners of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. That puts three of WWE’s biggest names in the same building as Waller, who clearly has no intention of treating any of them like they’re above him.
Waller might be calling the Performance Center his house, but he’ll have to back up those words when he steps into the ring with Punk. With Cena and Rhodes also in attendance, tonight could turn into a very interesting night for the NXT Champion.
