Gage Goldberg’s football career may still be his top priority, but he’s no longer hiding the fact that WWE is firmly on his radar. Nearly two years after revealing that Triple H had left the door open for him to join the company, Goldberg now says he would genuinely love to step into the wrestling business once his time on the football field comes to an end.

Speaking on the Colorado Football Coaches Show on September 30, Gage was asked what life after football might look like. He admitted that professional wrestling is absolutely one of the possibilities he’s considering.

“Yes, sir, it’s definitely there.”

Gage explained that his father, WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg, wasn’t always supportive of the idea. In fact, he said Goldberg was completely against him becoming a wrestler when he was younger.

“Actually, when I was younger, he didn’t want me to do it whatsoever.”

According to Gage, that changed once his father returned to WWE for his comeback and retirement run. Spending more time around the business gave both of them a different perspective, and now the decision is entirely in Gage’s hands.

“And then once he started to go back, once I started to get involved a little bit, then it started to change. It’s up to me.”

While he’s still focused on football at Colorado, Gage admitted he’d welcome the opportunity to continue the Goldberg legacy in wrestling when that chapter of his life comes to an end.

“So, I mean, I would love to do it. Honestly, I would love to have that opportunity to do it, and I feel like it would be a great thing to do after football.”

Those comments are a notable shift from where things stood back in 2024, when Gage revealed that Triple H had personally told him to reach out if he ever wanted to pursue a WWE career. At the time, wrestling was more of a possibility. Now, it sounds like it’s something Gage is genuinely interested in exploring once football is behind him.

There’s still plenty of football left before Gage has to make that decision, but for the first time he’s openly talking like a future in WWE is something he actually wants—not just an opportunity that’s sitting there if he ever changes his mind.

Do you think Gage Goldberg should give WWE a shot after football, or would you rather see him stay on the gridiron? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
