Fred Ottman finally has some good news after his latest trip to the hospital. The WWE Hall of Famer has been released and says he is doing better, although doctors still haven’t completely figured out what is going on.

Ottman took to Instagram on September 15 with another update after recently being admitted through the emergency room. He confirmed that he is back out of the hospital, but said there is still plenty for his doctors to investigate.

“They’ve released me from the hospital, okay? They’ve still got a lot more stuff to investigate and get me along the way better, and I can’t go into any detail.”

Ottman also showed his arm during the video, which appeared badly swollen and discolored. He pointed out its condition while explaining that both his orthopedic doctor and primary doctor are continuing to work with him.

“Look at the colors. Look at there. Oh boy. But they’re still investigating some things and seeing what’s going on. My orthopedic doctor and my primary doctor are taking care of me, and I’m just letting you know I’m better.”

Despite everything, Ottman still managed to joke about his appearance before thanking everyone who reached out while he was hospitalized.

“I’m only a little ugly, not a lot of ugly. But God bless you, and thank you to all the people keeping me in their thoughts and prayers. It’s been a rough year.”

Ottman had revealed days earlier that he was taken to the emergency room and subsequently admitted to the hospital. The situation forced him to cancel a scheduled appearance, although he didn’t disclose what caused the emergency.

This latest scare comes after an already difficult year for Ottman. Earlier in 2026, he spent weeks dealing with complications from a ruptured gallbladder, including a severe infection and multiple procedures. He was finally released from the hospital in February after doctors kept him under additional observation.

Ottman hasn’t said that his latest hospitalization is connected to those previous problems, and doctors are apparently still trying to determine exactly what is happening. For now, the important part is that Ottman is home and feeling better. After what he described himself as a “rough year,” he can at least put another hospital stay behind him while his doctors continue looking for answers.
