Former Layla El is looking back at her past relationship with Cody Rhodes, and she says she already knew back then that he was destined for major success.
Speaking with SportShadow.com, Layla spoke about dating Rhodes before his rise to the top of WWE and explained that his ambition and long-term goals were a huge reason she was attracted to him in the first place. Layla described Rhodes as a gentleman during their relationship.
“He was a gentleman and he would carry my stuff through security.”
Layla also said Rhodes constantly talked about his dreams and future plans, and she believed he would eventually accomplish them. She added that she would not have pursued a relationship with Rhodes if she did not believe in his future.
“I started dating Cody because I knew he was going to be a star and he had a lot of dreams and everything that he told me that he was going to do, he's done it.”
“I wouldn't have dated him or been with him if I didn't see everything that people will see now.”
Rhodes has since become one of WWE’s biggest stars and is now married to Brandi Rhodes. The two have built one of wrestling’s most recognizable couples over the years both inside and outside the industry.
