The referee who was in charge during one of TNA Wrestling’s most frightening moments this year is officially headed to WWE.

Former TNA official Katie Reynolds has joined WWE and is set to make her NXT debut during this weekend’s live events in Fort Pierce and Citrus Springs, Florida. The news was confirmed by WWE referee Adrian Butler, who welcomed Reynolds to the company with a photo on Instagram.

“This weekend’s WWE NXT Live Events in Ft. Pierce and Citrus Springs will see the debut of our new referee Katie Reynolds! Welcome to the team, Katie! #wwe #wwenxt #wweraw #smackdown @refalicelane @wwerecruit”

Reynolds will already be familiar to many wrestling fans after officiating one of the most talked-about matches in TNA this year. She was the referee assigned to Steve Maclin’s TNA World Championship match against Mike Santana at TNA Sacrifice, where the bout had to be stopped after Maclin absorbed a hard superkick and was unable to continue. Reynolds immediately called for medical assistance as doctors rushed to the ring, with the match being waved off due to the seriousness of the situation.

Reynolds now begins the next chapter of her career in WWE, where she’ll make her first appearances as an NXT referee this weekend after spending time officiating matches in TNA.
