Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe are not confirmed to be heading to TNA, but their names have been brought up as realistic and affordable options for the company.
While speaking on the Fightful Select Q&A, the former NXT tag team was brought up as a realistic option for TNA when Sean Ross Sapp asked a company source about recently released WWE talent who could show up. Nothing has been finalized, but their names are clearly on the radar.
Sapp explained that he had not heard about any confirmed deals yet, although he expects several released wrestlers to eventually land appearances through one-off matches or short-term agreements.
“Nothing as of yet, but naturally, they will happen. Whether they’re one-offs or short-term deals, some of them are going to pop up because there are only so many places to work now.”
When Sapp asked a TNA source which names could make sense, Tyson and Tyriek were among the first wrestlers mentioned.
“When I initially asked the TNA source about this, they brought up a couple of names that were interesting. He said Tyson and Tyriek.”
The pair already has history with TNA. They worked several dates for the company in 2025 before getting their shot in NXT, and their previous appearances apparently left a positive impression. Their price tag could also work in their favor. TNA has to be careful with its budget, and Tyson and Tyriek would likely cost less than some of the bigger names currently hitting the market.
“They have TV experience. They worked a number of TNA dates in 2025. They made a good impression. They’d be pretty affordable for TNA at this stage, which is important.”
Tyson and Tyriek never received a massive push in NXT, but they did get valuable television experience and showed enough upside to remain an intriguing team after their WWE exits. Sapp believes TNA could give them the platform to make a stronger first impression and establish themselves as more than two former developmental wrestlers.
“They can make their first big impressions in TNA, even though they’ve been on NXT a bit. I think that’s a good idea, honestly.”
There is no confirmation that Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe have signed with TNA or entered serious negotiations. Still, the company already knows what they can do, they made a good impression in the past, and their asking price may make them an easy gamble.
Would Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe be a good fit for TNA’s tag team division, or should they look somewhere else? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
