Anthony Bowens could be approaching the end of his AEW run. The longtime company star’s current contract is set to expire on October 1, and no extension has been confirmed.
According to Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp, Bowens has not signed a new deal with AEW. It is also unclear whether negotiations between the two sides have started. Bowens is not the only former member of The Acclaimed facing an uncertain future. Max Caster’s AEW contract is also set to expire on October 1.
Bowens and Caster found major success together as The Acclaimed, winning the AEW World Tag Team Championship. They later joined forces with Billy Gunn to capture the AEW World Trios Championship at All In London 2023 inside Wembley Stadium.
The team eventually went in separate directions, with Bowens becoming part of The Opps throughout 2026. However, his future with the group—and AEW as a whole—is now up in the air with the clock ticking on his deal.
Bowens has been with AEW for years and became one of the company’s most recognizable homegrown stars through his run with The Acclaimed. Whether that relationship continues beyond October 1 now depends on what happens over the next several weeks.
