Dawn Marie isn’t joining OnlyFans for a “big money grab.” The former WWE and ECW star says she’s thinking about her future, the physical toll wrestling has taken on her body and making sure her children don’t have to leave college buried in debt.

While speaking to Fox News Digital, the 55-year-old opened up about why she decided to launch the page while continuing to work as a nurse. First, Dawn made it clear that her boundaries haven’t changed since the account went live. There won’t be nudity or wild collaborations coming later.

“It’s going to be fun. It’s going to be flirty. We’re not doing nudes, which I made that very clear. Just going to be Dawn Marie.”

The bigger reason behind the move is considerably more personal. Dawn said years of taking bumps have left her dealing with lingering physical issues, including problems with her neck. Working as a nurse has also given her a firsthand look at what can happen to people physically as they get older, and she doesn’t want to wait until something happens before thinking about her own future.

“I have a lot of residual issues also from being a nurse from wrestling. I choose not to be what I see on a daily basis – people my age in beds and never getting back up. It’s scary. And the only difference is it happened to them and not me.

These are the things that go through my head. You know, as we get older, we start thinking about these things, right? So, it just made sense. It just made sense to prepare.”

That preparation isn’t only about herself. As a single mother, Dawn wants to put some extra money away for her children. If she remains healthy enough to continue nursing and never needs that money herself, she’s perfectly happy with her kids eventually benefiting from it instead.

“And heck, if I’m able to nurse and continue to nurse and figure it out and not need the extra dollars … Well, I guess my kids are going to have a great time after I’m gone.

I would love nothing more than to be able to, as a single mom, have my kids finish school and not have a college debt.”

Dawn has also started making wrestling appearances again, which pushed her to take better care of herself and eventually made her wonder why she shouldn’t try something new. She isn’t interested in pretending those 20 years never happened either.

“I’m not trying to be the Dawn Marie of 20 years ago. I’m trying to be the Dawn Marie that’s 55 and embracing it and enjoying being what I am and what I am now. I think women are beautiful at every age.”

Dawn’s OnlyFans launched on August 11 with the former WWE star advertising “fun, flirty” content while explicitly ruling out full nudity and overtly sexual material. She previously returned to WWE television in 2024 as the special guest referee for an NXT match at the ECW Arena, although she’s made it clear another wrestling match isn’t happening.

For Dawn, this new venture isn’t about trying to recreate her wrestling-era image or suddenly chase a massive payday. It’s another source of financial security if her body eventually makes nursing more difficult.

“This wasn’t about the big money grab. This is just preparing a little extra something for my future – just in case.”

At 55, Dawn isn’t trying to turn the clock back to her WWE or ECW days. She’s found a way to reconnect with fans on her own terms while potentially putting her kids in a better position for whatever comes next.
