Ernest “The Cat” Miller wanted a legend on JCW Lunacy, but after trashing Caleb Konley as a nobody, he got a fight instead.
During the May 28 episode of JCW Lunacy, Miller came out and immediately confronted Vince Russo over being booked against Konley. The former WCW star got right in Russo’s face and repeatedly made it clear that he wanted to face somebody on his level because, in his words, he is a legend.
The problem was that Konley was there to hear all of it. Konley did not take kindly to being dismissed before the match even started. He unloaded on Miller, calling him a “James Brown, Muhammad Ali-looking motherfer,” accused him of sucking d, and promised to give The Cat all the smoke before mocking him to his face.
Miller’s response was quick and brutal. He dropped Konley with one kick directly to the face, cutting off the trash talk in a hurry and leaving him laid out. The match still went forward, but Miller’s anger toward Russo ended up costing him. While The Cat was distracted arguing with Russo, Konley rolled him up and scored the pinfall victory.
Miller was not about to let the night end quietly after being embarrassed by the loss. Once the match was over, he took out the referee, leaving a trail of chaos behind him after a segment that went from a booking complaint to a personal attack and a stolen victory.
Ernest Miller may have walked into JCW Lunacy demanding a legend, but Caleb Konley walked out with the win after making the situation personal in a hurry.
