Enzo Amore may not officially be heading back to WWE yet — but a new backstage report is suddenly making the possibility feel a lot more real.

While speaking during a Self Made Session, Self Made Pro revealed that WWE was in direct contact with Enzo during WrestleMania 42 week.

“What I can tell you guys is that on the week of WrestleMania, they were in contact with Enzo Amore.”

The report went even further, noting that WWE is actively scouting multiple tag teams from around the wrestling world right now, while doubling down on the fact Enzo Amore was in contact with WWE last month.

“What I can tell you flat out and confirm is that Enzo was in contact with WWE the week of WrestleMania. And what I can tell you for a fact also is that they’re looking at a bunch of teams that they want to sign from different companies all around the world.”

This immediately fueled speculation about a possible reunion between Enzo and his longtime tag partner Big Bill, especially after recent reports regarding Big Bill’s contract situation in All Elite Wrestling.

According to Fightful Select, there was internal belief within AEW back in April that Big Bill’s contract could expire around late May or early June. As of now, there still reportedly has not been confirmation that he signed a new deal with the company.

The timing makes the situation especially interesting considering Enzo previously admitted he has stayed loosely connected to WWE over the years. Speaking on the No Contest Wrestling podcast in late 2025, Enzo revealed he had reached out to WWE through text messages but never formally pushed for a return.

“You know, people ask me all the time, ‘Bro, when are you going back to WWE?’ I mean, it’s the most common question I get everywhere I go.”

He then explained that while communication had happened, neither side fully pursued anything further. Enzo also claimed he believes WWE knows exactly what kind of reaction he could still generate if given another opportunity on television..

“And to be honest with you, I’ve never called them. I’ve reached out via text message, I’ve gotten responses, which is cool, but I’ve never actually picked up the phone. And they never called me, that’s for damn sure. I’m telling you right now — you put me on that microphone and send me out there with Paul Heyman and Roman Reigns, you’re going to see a rating pop that you haven’t seen in a decade.”

After being fired by WWE in 2018, Enzo rebuilt his career across the independent scene and made appearances for multiple promotions, including TNA Wrestling. Meanwhile, Big Bill reinvented himself in AEW following his own WWE departure years ago.

Bottom line: WWE contacted Enzo Amore during WrestleMania 42 weekend, and with questions still surrounding Big Bill’s AEW contract status, speculation about a possible reunion between the former tag team partners is suddenly heating up again. For now, a WWE return for Enzo Amore and Big Bill remains only a possibility, but the door may not be as closed as many thought.
