Eddie Kingston is off Friday night’s C4 Wrestling show in Canada, with the promotion announcing just hours before bell time that the AEW star will no longer be appearing at Fighting Back 2026.
Kingston had been advertised for the August 14 charity event in Ottawa, where he was scheduled to team with Ortiz and Gabriel Fuerza in a six-man tag team match against Sheldon Jean, Jessie V and Mark Wheeler. That match is now getting reshuffled after C4 Wrestling said Kingston was pulled due to circumstances outside of the promotion’s control. C4 broke the news Friday morning and apologized to fans while making it clear the rest of the card is still moving forward.
“We are deeply sorry to announce that due to circumstances beyond our control, Eddie Kingston will no longer be appearing tonight at our event. We assure you the show is going to be incredible, and we will do our best to make up for the change. Please support if you are able to.”
No additional reason was given for Kingston’s removal from the event. Fighting Back 2026 is the 15th annual edition of C4 Wrestling’s charity show benefiting the Canadian Cancer Society. The event is set for the Preston Event Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, with the show scheduled to stream live on IndependentWrestling.TV and YouTube beginning at 7:30 p.m. Eastern.
Kingston’s absence is a significant last-minute change, especially with him positioned in one of the featured matches on the card, but C4 is still pushing ahead with the fundraiser as planned.
