Eddie Guerrero’s legacy continues to live on more than two decades after his passing, and on what would’ve been his birthday, his daughter made sure he wasn’t forgotten.
Guerrero passed away suddenly on November 13, 2005, at just 38 years old after suffering acute heart failure. His death sent shockwaves through the wrestling world, and to this day he’s remembered as one of the most beloved performers in WWE history.
On October 9, which would’ve been Eddie’s birthday, his daughter Sherilyn Guerrero took to Instagram to share several childhood photos with her father along with an emotional message reflecting on his life and the impact he continues to have on her.
“It’s your heavenly birthday! I love continuously learning about you, remembering you, and honoring you in any way there is. You are so loved, you were so amazing and truly left an incredible impact in this world. I’m blessed to be my fathers daughter, you were an amazing dad to my sisters & I, and overall stand up man that I can say this world still misses ♥️ Hope your eating all the tres leches cakes up there 🎂”
She closed the tribute by sharing one final message, saying that no matter how much time passes, she’ll always be his little girl, including a photo of herself as a child in his arms.
“And yes, this was one of my dads favorite songs 🥲 At the end of anything & everything – I’ll always be your little girl and your arms will always be the ones I feel safe in.”
More than 20 years after his passing, Eddie Guerrero’s influence is still felt throughout professional wrestling. Judging by Sherilyn’s tribute, it’s clear his memory remains just as strong within his family as it does among the fans who continue to celebrate his life and career.
