Dragon Lee’s stock is soaring in WWE—and the latest backstage update confirms just how much the company values him right now.
According to Self Made Pro during a Self Made Session on January 19, 2026, WWE management is “really big” on Dragon Lee right now—particularly the Raw creative team, who sees him as an essential piece of the brand’s future. Lee is reportedly being prioritized over other top-tier luchadors, including Rey Fénix.
“Yeah, they really want to keep him, and the office genuinely likes him a lot. It’s interesting because right now they seem to like him more than Rey Fénix. They’re really big on Dragon Lee at the moment, especially the Raw creative team.”
Lee’s momentum is on full display. On the January 19 episode of Raw, he teamed up with Rey Mysterio and Penta to defeat The Vision—another strong signal that WWE views him as part of its upper-tier mix heading into WrestleMania season.
His association with Rey Mysterio has only enhanced that push, giving him the legacy rub while he develops his own identity within the main-event scene.
“Now he’s in the top mix, working with the Vision and all of that. And having Rey Mysterio connected to him—being Rey Mysterio’s guy—definitely helps too.”
This all follows PWInsider’s October 2025 report that WWE was impressed with Lee’s international performance against Dominik Mysterio in AAA and wanted to lock him into a new deal before his current contract expires in 2026. That bout—and Lee’s continued rise in WWE—has solidified him as one of the company’s most promising stars.
Is Dragon Lee the next breakout star for WWE on Raw? Should he be positioned ahead of Rey Fénix in the pecking order? Drop your take in the comments below.
