WWE has made it official—Dominik Mysterio is getting his shot at redemption.

On August 18, WWE confirmed via Twitter that “Dirty” Dom will challenge El Hijo del Vikingo for the AAA Mega Championship at WWE x AAA Worlds Collide on September 12 in Las Vegas.

The update came just days after Triplemanía XXXIII, where Mysterio came inches away from winning the AAA Mega Title before AJ Styles interfered and cost him the match. In a video attached to the tweet, Dominik didn’t hold back when addressing Styles and Vikingo.

“AJ Styles, you’re bat. You just cost me the AAA Mega Championship, eco Levi Kingo. I’ll see you at Worlds Collide. That was it was AJ and I am the best Mysterio—get off a cloud line.”

Before WWE made the announcement official, Dominik had already shared his frustration in a post-show interview, venting about being chased all the way to Mexico City by Styles and insisting he should be champion.

“The truth is, I am very angry that this old man came to chase me all the way to Mexico City. Obviously, Vikingo should not have won — I should be your new AAA Mega Champion.”

Even through the anger, Mysterio didn’t hesitate when asked about his plans for Worlds Collide.

“Of course. As I said, that Mega Championship belongs to me. Vikingo, see you at Worlds Collide.”

With less than a month until the event, the stage is now set for Dominik Mysterio to try and claim what he believes is rightfully his.
