Devon Dudley has been waiting long enough. The WWE Hall of Famer says Pro Wrestling Illustrated still owes the Dudley Boyz a plaque from years ago, and now he wants somebody over there to finally hand the damn thing over.

During a recent episode of Duke LovesRasslin, the conversation turned to PWI and its history of recognizing wrestling’s biggest names. That was all Devon needed to bring up one piece of unfinished business that clearly never left his mind. He didn’t ease into it.

“Listen, I’ve always had beef with PWI. I want my tag team plaque.”

Devon then explained why this still sticks with him. He said he was recently signing old copies of Pro Wrestling Illustrated at an autograph appearance when he started flipping through the back pages and looking at old rankings and award winners.

“I was watching—I was looking at some old Pro Wrestling Illustrated books. I actually was signing a couple that I was in at an autograph signing, and, you know, I went to the back of the page, the back of the book where all of the rankings were and, you know, who won this, who won that.”

“And there goes the Road Warriors. They got their plaque, and the Dudley Boys were, you know, announced as tag team of the other year, but we didn’t get no plaque. I want my damn plaque.”

Duke jumped in and joked that they may need to find PWI’s Kevin McElvaney and get an explanation face-to-face. Devon wasn’t interested in letting the subject die there either. He then joked that if anything ever happens to Pro Wrestling Illustrated, they better settle this debt first.

“I hope it doesn’t happen with Pro Wrestling Illustrated. But if it does, I want my plaque before you guys leave.”

Duke followed that up by warning PWI that Devon had officially put them on notice. Devon answered with the only line he really needed.

“Give me my damn plaque.”

The Dudley Boyz collected championships all over the wrestling world and built one of the most decorated tag team careers ever, but apparently there’s still one piece of hardware Devon believes never made it into his hands.

Years later, he remembers exactly who got theirs, exactly who didn’t, and he clearly isn’t interested in letting PWI off the hook. At this point, somebody might want to check the office closet before Devon shows up looking for it himself.

Do you think Pro Wrestling Illustrated should finally get Devon Dudley his missing plaque, or is this one wrestling grudge that gets funnier the longer it goes? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
