Darby Allin is making it very clear that he plans on humiliating MJF at AEW Double or Nothing — and he says the AEW star’s hair is the perfect target.
Ahead of their title versus hair match this Sunday in Queens, New York, the AEW World Champion spoke with The Sportster and ripped into MJF while explaining why shaving his head means so much.
According to Allin, MJF cares so much about his hair that he even traveled to Turkey to try to save it.
“That’s what’s so beautiful about the match on Sunday. He’s gonna say what he’s gonna say, and I’m gonna tell him right now, I’m shaving his head.”
Allin then explained exactly why he believes taking MJF’s hair away would completely destroy his ego.
“People are like, well, why the hair? Why the hair? I’m like, we’re talking about a man who flew all the way to Turkey to save what’s left of that hair.”
He continued unloading on MJF while claiming the AEW star’s image is deeply tied to his appearance.
“That’s like the one thing he holds dearest because he’s willing to go so much lengths to keep it. So if you just take it from him, that’s going to chip away at everything that he represents.”
The interview also touched on Allin’s reputation for dangerous stunts and reckless matches. When asked whether he has ever reached a point where he second-guesses a dangerous idea before doing it live, Allin admitted he still has not hit that wall mentally.
“No, I haven’t reached that point yet.”
Allin then gave another wild answer while discussing his mindset toward injuries and physical punishment.
“I’m very at peace with going to the hospital. So it’s nothing I’m avoiding.”
The comments only add more intensity to one of AEW’s most personal matches heading into Double or Nothing. With the AEW World Championship on the line and MJF’s hair now part of the stakes, Allin sounds completely convinced he is about to embarrass his longtime rival in front of the world.
AEW Double or Nothing takes place Sunday, May 24, from Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York.
