Danhausen believes his work with the New York Knicks should earn him a place in NBA 2K.
The WWE Superstar has spent the Knicks’ championship season joking that his “very nice, very evil” powers helped remove the curse hanging over the franchise. The team even acknowledged Danhausen during the run, keeping the gag alive as New York finally reached the top.
Speaking with Ringside Collectibles at San Diego Comic-Con, Danhausen explained that lifting the curse required months of serious preparation.
“It was a lot of hard work and preparation throughout the season to get that uncursing going. We had a lot of training camps and everything Danhausen attended, and then Danhausen was finally ready to uncurse them after they had earned it.”
Now that the job is finished, Danhausen already has his eyes on the next step. He wants the NBA 2K franchise to make him a playable downloadable character.
“Let’s get Danhausen in NBA 2K as downloadable content too.”
Danhausen landing in NBA 2K would certainly be one of the strangest wrestling and basketball crossovers yet. After taking credit for ending the Knicks’ curse, he clearly believes a spot in the game is the least 2K can do.
