Manchester United have spent years trying to find their way back to the top, and Danhausen is willing to offer a very unusual solution. After taking credit for helping the New York Knicks end their 53-year championship drought, he says he’ll work his magic for United too, but it’ll cost them £10 million.
While speaking to BANG Showbiz, Danhausen talked about his experiences visiting the United Kingdom. That eventually brought the conversation to Manchester United. With the club still waiting for another Premier League title, Danhausen was asked whether he could give them some of the same supernatural treatment he gave the Knicks. He was willing to entertain the idea, but he immediately realized somebody was trying to get his services without paying.
“Oh, trying to get a freebie out of Danhausen, huh?”
Apparently curses aren’t complimentary anymore. Danhausen was prepared to negotiate, although he first needed to make sure he had the local currency right.
“How about you send Danhausen some of—are they called British pounds?”
Once that was cleared up, Danhausen named his price. Manchester United can have him “do the bidding” for £10 million, preferably delivered in the most Danhausen way possible. Danhausen was happy with the proposed arrangement once the interviewer agreed that sounded like a deal.
“British pounds. All right. So, Danhausen is going to need about 10 mil of those British coins, pounds, if you will, and mail them over in a money sack, classic style, and Danhausen will do the bidding. I think so, too.”
There is at least some recent history behind asking Danhausen for help. In June, he became part of the New York Knicks’ playoff story by “uncursing” the team before they defeated the San Antonio Spurs 94-90 in Game 5 of the 2026 NBA Finals, ending a 53-year championship drought.
Danhausen naturally took some credit once the job was finished. After the Knicks won the championship, he congratulated his new “Nixhausens” while declaring himself the new king of New York.
“Yes. We did it. Danhausen’s the king of New York now. Oh, yes, I’ll get a statue of Danhausen and a mural of Danhausen and Danhausen in the side of Times Square, the site of Madison Square Garden.”
Now Manchester United have been offered their own chance to test the Danhausen method. The Knicks got a championship out of the deal, but United will apparently need to find £10 million and one extremely large, classic-style money sack before Danhausen gets involved.
