Speaking to Ariel Helwani of ESPN, Conor McGregor’s manager Audie Attar clarified the terms of McGregor’s plea deal with the state of New York and also explained that his client wants to fight again in 2018, and that the opponent is probably UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Attar, who explained that McGregor now does not face any issue of even fighting in the state of New York again, maintained that they still have to sort out the negotiations with the UFC before they can announce anything concrete.

He also clarified that McGregor arrived in New York at UFC 223 with the intention of ironing out a deal with the UFC to fight in May, and not for the purpose of causing a ruckus at the event.
