Cody Rhodes has found a unique way to keep Pharaoh’s memory alive. Just weeks after saying goodbye to his beloved husky, Rhodes has revealed that the American Nightmare logo is getting its first major makeover—and it’s all because of Pharaoh.
Back in September, Rhodes announced that Pharaoh had passed away after nearly 16 years. In a emotional Instagram post, he reflected on Pharaoh’s personality, his unexpected popularity with wrestling fans, and the special bond he shared with Cody’s daughter, Liberty. Cody ultimately said Pharaoh had found his true purpose by always being by Liberty’s side, ending his tribute with the words, “You did your job. We love you.”
Speaking on the Flagrant podcast, Cody revealed that Pharaoh’s legacy will now live on through his iconic American Nightmare branding. While the tattoo itself isn’t changing, the logo that appears on his merchandise and other projects is getting a fresh look inspired by his late companion.
“I’m about to change—not change the logo because we can’t change the tattoo—but for the first time ever, the way the American Nightmare, exactly this logo which is on everything we do, I’m going to—it’s going to be a wolf skull that’s turned with the wings out to the side because I just lost my husky Pharaoh after almost 16 years.”
Cody went on to explain that he’s envisioning a side-profile husky or direwolf-style skull while keeping the signature wings that have become synonymous with the American Nightmare.
“I’m going to give him a little run and let’s see that logo and just turn it side profile, husky-wolf, direwolf-type looking thing. See what they come up with. But should be pretty cool.”
It’s a pretty fitting tribute. Pharaoh wasn’t just Cody’s dog—he became part of Cody’s wrestling journey, appearing at events, getting his own merchandise and even becoming a familiar face to fans over the years. Now, it looks like he’ll continue being part of the American Nightmare every time that logo appears.
