CM Punk might have just planted the seed for one of the biggest surprises of AAA’s expansion into the United States. It all started with an action figure.

While chatting with Ringside Collectibles about his upcoming Straight Edge Society Ultimate Edition figure, Punk was asked what he thought about seeing one of the most memorable versions of himself turned into a collectible. Instead of simply reminiscing about the old days, Punk looked ahead—and suddenly brought up AAA, TripleManía 34, and the possibility of putting the mask back on.

“I think it’s super cool. I think it’s also really timely because we, you know, our sister promotion AAA is branching out and they’re doing stuff. I think TripleMania is going to be partly in Las Vegas this year. We just announced a show for them at the Allstate Arena. So, it might be the perfect time for me to kind of dip my toe in the AAA pool.”

That’s quite the tease. Punk didn’t say he’s wrestling for AAA. He didn’t say he’s bringing back the Straight Edge Society character. But he absolutely knew what he was doing when he connected that figure to TripleManía in Las Vegas. Then he kept going.

“I’ve worn a mask before. I’ve gotten my head shaved in a mask versus hair match before. We can set the table and we can do it all over again in 2026.”

By that point, the interviewer couldn’t help but ask the obvious question, whether there’s a chance he could bring back the Straight Edge Society mask. Punk’s answer wasn’t a yes, but he made sure he didn’t rule it out either.

“Maybe. I think… I think a lot of the lucha fans would appreciate the hell out of that, yeah. We’d sell some masks.”

That’s all it took. One question about an action figure turned into Punk openly talking about stepping into AAA, bringing back the Straight Edge Society mask, and giving lucha fans exactly what they never thought they’d see again. Whether any of it actually happens is another story, but Punk definitely left the door open—and that’s probably all he wanted to do.
