CM Punk’s in Saudi Arabia right now and he’s set to face John Cena at Night of Champions. While he’s obviously a fan favorite worldwide, it appears he was heavily booed during the Night of Champions kickoff show today.
During the Night of Champions kickoff show, Michael Cole talked about CM Punk and John Cena’s upcoming match at Night of Champions. When Cole mentioned Punk, the fans in attendance heavily booed the Second City Saint and this might not come as a surprise to those who know what’s been going on with Punk lately.
This comes after a video of the Second City Saint pushing a young fan who just wanted to take a photo with Punk in Saudi Arabia became viral. A lot of people were really unhappy with the way Punk treated the kid.
That’s not all as CM Punk had been very clear in the past about not supporting WWE’s events in Saudi Arabia. In 2020, he made headlines when he took a shot at The Miz with a harsh remark, saying, “Go suck a blood money covered d*** in Saudi Arabia you f******* dork.”
Regardless, CM Punk has clearly changed his views on Saudi Arabia since he’s already there and going to compete at Night of Champions. Therefore, we’ll have to see how he will fare against John Cena at the Premium Live Event.
