Chris Jericho and Nick Wayne are officially running it back at AEW WrestleDream, with their rivalry now headed to a rubber match this Saturday.
The match was set up during the October 14, 2026 episode of AEW Dynamite/Collision after Wayne came to the ring to celebrate his recent victory over Jericho.
Wayne leaned all the way into the moment, repeatedly bragging that he beat Jericho while pyro went off around him. He even rolled a video package set to “Superman (It’s Not Easy)” by Five for Fighting as part of the celebration.
That is when Jericho interrupted. Jericho revealed that he knew Wayne had a video package coming and had prepared one of his own. His version focused on Wayne using a low blow before hitting Wayne’s World to pick up the victory.
Jericho then pointed out that their series is now tied 1-1 and challenged Wayne to settle things in a rubber match at WrestleDream.
Wayne accepted, but added a condition of his own. He said that after he beats Jericho again, Jericho has to come to the ring and apologize for not taking him seriously, for not admitting how handsome he is and for acting like he knows more than him. Jericho fired back by saying Wayne still has lessons to learn. The two shook hands to make the match official, but Jericho had one more message waiting.
When Wayne asked what Jericho’s second reason was for showing the video, Jericho answered by kicking him below the belt, making it clear that the lessons are not over yet. That leaves the score tied heading into WrestleDream, where Jericho and Wayne will finally settle their series in a third match.
