Ten years after making The List, James Ellsworth figured enough time had passed to finally earn a pardon. Instead, Chris Jericho reminded everyone that some names never come off the list.

Back before Survivor Series 2016, Jericho famously added Ellsworth to The List after spotting him at ringside during the Team Raw and Team SmackDown confrontation and mocking him for being a “weird-looking guy.”

On October 4, Ellsworth reunited with Jericho and shared the encounter on Instagram, writing: “I asked @chrisjerichofozzy if after 10 years I can get off his list … Here’s what he had to say…” The video opened with Ellsworth making what he thought was a convincing case after waiting a full decade.

“Now, Chris, it’s been 10 years, and as you know, I’m a television legend and future Hall of Famer. I think it’s about time you take me off the list.”

Chris Jericho immediately recognized him—but only so he could start roasting him all over again by calling hin “Chins McMahon” and a “weird-looking guy.”

“Wait a second. Are you the weird guy that was at the side of the ring on the SmackDown vs. Raw challenge promo? That was you? Are you Chins McMahon? You’re a weird-looking guy. You know what happens when you’re a weird-looking guy?”

Ellsworth quickly realized exactly where the conversation was heading: “No, don’t do that.” When Jericho asked what happens when a weird-looking guy asks to be taken off the list, Ellsworth still tried to plead his case.

“I think you should.”

Jericho wasn’t interested in granting the request as he went after Ellsworth for trying to get takenn off the list after 10 years.

“You know what happens when it’s 10 years later and you’re still trying to kneel and snivel and grovel your way off the list, especially when you’re a weird-looking guy?”

Ellsworth made one last desperate attempt to stop what everyone knew was coming:“What? No, no, please don’t do that.” Seconds later, Jericho delivered the line that made the original segment so memorable.

“YOU JUST MADE THE LIST!”

Ellsworth could only react in disbelief before Jericho doubled down: “Not again, no!” Jericho then yelled, “AGAIN!” Accepting defeat, Ellsworth joked that he’d simply have to wait another decade before trying again.

“I’ll try again in 10 more years.”

Rather than trying to recreate the original segment exactly, the two leaned into the nostalgia and had fun revisiting one of Jericho’s most memorable WWE gimmicks. A full decade later, The List is apparently still active—and Ellsworth is still one of its most loyal members.
