Chris Jericho defeated HOOK for the FTW Championship at AEW Dynasty and since then he has fully embraced ”The Learning Tree” gimmick which is more self-aware than initially thought. In fact, Jericho feels his current character is his favorite right now.
Chris Jericho put his FTW Championship on the line against both HOOK and Katsuyori Shibata in a three-way FTW Rules match at AEW Double or Nothing. In the end, Jericho retained his title thanks to Bryan Keith who ended up joining Jericho. Since then, Keith has been part of the Jericho’s faction as Jericho continues to spread his teachings to the branches.
Speaking to TMZ Sports, Chris Jericho asserted that his current era is his best yet. He explained that he wouldn’t continue his career if he didn’t believe this phase was the pinnacle of his work.
“People will always ask me ‘What’s your favorite era of Chris Jericho?’ I always say the one I’m in right now. The Learning Tree. If it’s not, then why am I doing it?
“There’s been a lot of great moments, but I like this era. I like what’s going on right now.”
Chris Jericho has also admitted that he finds joy in angering others. It remains to be seen how fans will perceive Chris Jericho’s new character moving forward. While some may be tired of his presence and desire for him to retire, others may still find interest and enjoyment in his ongoing contributions to wrestling.
