Speaking on iDstroy, the conversation started with the interviewer running through a list of random facts he’d dug up about the couple. After joking about Cardona’s spending habits and an old Volkswagen Jetta, he brought up one story involving Gatorade being poured into a car instead of windshield wiper fluid. Cardona immediately made sure everyone knew he wasn’t the guilty party before Green happily confessed that it was entirely her doing.
“I did that. I did that. I did that when I was, like, probably 21, and I was in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.”
Green explained that she needed windshield wiper fluid, but didn’t have any. Instead of waiting until she could buy some, she looked around, saw a bottle of Gatorade and decided that would have to do.
“And look, I needed—I needed windshield wiper fluid. What’s a girl to do? All I had was Gatorade.”
The confession caught everyone off guard, including Cardona himself, who admitted he’d somehow never heard the story despite being married to Green.
“That’s the first time I heard that story.”
It might not have been the most mechanically sound decision Chelsea Green has ever made, but it definitely gave everyone a laugh. Judging by Cardona’s reaction, some of her best stories are apparently still surprising him too.
