Charlotte Flair isn’t sweating John Cena’s bold claim that he’ll make fans forget the name Ric Flair. In fact, she’s got a plan—if Cena breaks her father’s world title record, she’s coming straight for his.

In a recent interview with The Independent, Charlotte made it crystal clear that history can’t be erased just because someone wants to rewrite it. “You can’t erase history. History is facts. And if you erase my dad, you erase me. It’s not possible to erase the last name Flair,” she said.

John Cena recently vowed to win his 17th world championship at WrestleMania 41, aiming to surpass Ric Flair’s legendary record. In a heated promo on Raw in Glasgow, the now-heel Cena said, “I am going to ruin wrestling… I make history by winning a 17th championship, and finally force you to forget the name of the fun machine, jet-flying, ‘woo’, Ric Flair. You will forever say the name John Cena.”

Charlotte’s response? Bring it on. “I plan on breaking my dad’s record, that’s something I want to do and will do. But if John is the first to break it, then I will break John’s record.”

The Queen is set to take one step closer at WrestleMania 41, where she’ll challenge Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship. That match follows Charlotte’s second career Royal Rumble win in January. With 14 reigns already under her belt, she’s just three away from matching her father’s milestone—and four from making history herself.

“I don’t plan on slowing down, that’s not why I came back,” the 38-year-old added. “I haven’t held that title. It’s still something new… Every time one of those is raised… [it affects me], but I haven’t held those two.”

WrestleMania 41 goes down April 19 and 20 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, streaming live on Netflix internationally and Peacock in the U.S.
