Charlotte Flair isn’t letting trolls drag her for looking like her own father—and she made that perfectly clear during her appearance on Nightcap with Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson.
The WWE star opened up about the brutal reality of internet hate and how it blindsided her once she entered the world of sports entertainment. After years of competing in sports where performance mattered more than appearance, the insults about her looks hit differently.
“Playing sports growing up, like no one cared what you looked like, right? And also if you were the best player, you were the best player or team captain or hardest worker in the room. Like no one gave a—excuse me—no one cared like who your dad was.”
But everything changed once she stepped into WWE. That’s when she found herself constantly attacked for one specific thing—looking too much like Ric Flair.
“I just wasn’t prepared for the online hate… dealing with like, ‘Why does she look like her dad?’ I don’t know, I’m his daughter. Like, why is that such a big deal?”
Charlotte didn’t deny that her father helped open the door—but she made it clear that mocking her for genetics is ridiculous. She’s his daughter. Of course she resembles him. And anyone still stuck on that point clearly has nothing better to say.
The Queen has never shied away from her lineage, but if you think that means she’s immune to the toxic side of social media, think again.
