Ronda Rousey left WWE after her bout against Shayna Baszler at SummerSlam back in 2023. Since then, Rousey has criticized WWE and gone on several rants against the company, and now Charlotte Flair has addressed Rousey’s anti-WWE remarks.
Last year, Ronda Rousey talked about her WWE experiences, providing major insights into her tenure with the company. She used strong language towards Bruce Prichard and John Laurinaitis, expressing her frustrations by telling them to go ‘f*** themselves.’ Ronda Rousey also alleged that WWE discriminated against women and a lot of other things.
While speaking to Daily Mail, Charlotte Flair responded to Ronda Rousey’s negative comments about WWE, saying she doesn’t want to speak for anyone else because everyone has their own opinions and experiences. She added that no one can speak for someone else.
“I never want to [speak for someone else]. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and everyone has their own experience, so you can never put words into someone’s mouth.”
Flair then talked about her match with Ronda at Survivor Series, where she saw Ronda’s toughness and how quickly she picked up the business. She mentioned that Ronda’s debut match with Kurt Angle, Stephanie McMahon, and Triple H was one of the best debuts ever.
Flair also added that she and Ronda have mutual respect for each other, and that respect is important in wrestling. She said she only speaks about what she knows and thinks highly of Ronda professionally.
“What I can say is, my match with Rhonda at Survivor Series and what I saw from Ronda and her level of toughness, her ability to adapt, her ability to pick up the business because remember her match with Kurt Angle and Stephanie and Triple H was one of the greatest debuts of all time.
So I’m only speaking what I know from her on a professional level and the mutual respect that she has for me. To me it’s all about respect. This industry is built on respect. I talk about the things that I do know and that I do think highly of her on.”
Despite being labeled as bitter by some for her anti-WWE remarks, Ronda Rousey is more than happy with her life outside of pro wrestling. Rousey also believes that WWE’s women’s division is much better now that Vince McMahon is no longer in charge. Regardless, Flair and Rousey will always have mutual respect, and that’s not going to change.
