Chad Gable now knows who’s coming for his Intercontinental Championship. Dragon Lee earned the next title shot after defeating Ethan Page on the August 31 episode of WWE RAW.
Page tried to steal the match by removing a turnbuckle pad, but the move came back to bite him. Lee took advantage of the distraction, hit Operation Dragon and covered Page for the three-count. The victory locked Lee in as Gable’s next challenger. Their Intercontinental Championship match will take place on the September 14 episode of RAW.
Lee landed the opportunity just one week after falling out of contention for Roman Reigns’ World Heavyweight Championship. He may have missed out on one title, but he didn’t have to wait long for another shot at gold.
The September 14 RAW will now feature two major championship matches. Along with Gable defending against Lee, Reigns will put the World Heavyweight Championship on the line.
Gable has his next challenger, and Lee has another chance to prove he can break through as a singles star. This time, the Intercontinental Championship is within reach.
