Byron Saxton was moved off of SmackDown’s commentary desk when Friday Night SmackDown started on FOX. Now Michael Cole and Corey Graves are manning the desk with Renee Young as a “special contributor.”
The former blue brand announcer Tom Phillips has a new role in WWE on NXT UK, but Byron Saxton has yet to reemerge.
PW Insider has confirmed that Saxton is still employed by WWE. He just doesn’t have a current on-screen assignment. It was not noted what he is doing for the company in any capacity at this time.
Byron Saxton has a lot of experience and could be used in a few roles both on and off-screen. We’ll let you know as soon as we hear anything regarding when fans might see him next.
