Bryan Danielson may be back on AEW television, but don’t mistake that for his body suddenly feeling normal again. After returning to commentary at AEW All In last month, Danielson has now shared an update on the physical condition he’s still dealing with behind the scenes.

The former AEW World Champion says the pain hasn’t gone away. In fact, just getting his body moving each day now takes far more work than most people probably realize. Speaking on The Nikki & Brie Show, Danielson was talking about how staying off his phone has led to more real-life interactions when he casually revealed that a recent trip to visit his mother doubled as a recovery day because his body was hurting so much.

“So I, you know, there are obviously… it’s meeting people that are really interesting, right? And one, you know, one of the poetry books that I’m actually reading right now, I met the author when I was visiting my mom because I was up there. It was just a mobility day. My body hurts a lot.”

Danielson then explained what a “mobility day” actually looks like for him these days, revealing that it takes about an hour and a half of recovery work before his body feels functional.

“So I… I’ll spend, you see me. Oh yeah, I’ll spend like 90 minutes up there, foam rolling, stretching, all the… doing all these sorts of things.”

It’s another reminder of just how much wear and tear Danielson is still dealing with despite stepping away from full-time competition. While fans were excited to see him back on AEW programming at All In, his comments make it clear that the road back hasn’t magically fixed years of punishment inside the ring.

Whether Danielson wrestles again is still one of wrestling’s biggest unanswered questions. For now, though, he’s making it clear that simply keeping his body moving is a challenge in itself, even after months away from active competition.
