Bron Breakker Aims to Retire John Cena

Bron Breakker made a powerful debut on the main roster at the Royal Rumble and has since been booked as an unstoppable force. In his quest for dominance, he has set his sights on challenging John Cena and retiring John Cena.

The 2024 WWE Money in the Bank event in Toronto, Canada saw John Cena announce his impending retirement as professional wrestler, where Cena announced his plans to be present when RAW moves to Netflix. He also revealed that the Royal Rumble, the Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania 2025 will be his final wrestling appearances.

Unlike other wrestlers who have had retirement matches, John Cena will have an entire tour featuring 100 dates in 2025 and he will end his in-ring career for good in December 2025.

While speaking with the Daily Star, Breakker revealed that his ultimate dream match would be to retire John Cena. He mentioned that Cena is set to embark on a farewell tour next year, and he would like the opportunity to face the 16-time World Champion during this tour.

Breakker believes that if Cena wants to have the best possible match with elite talent he hasn’t faced yet, that talent is him. He emphasized that he is positioned as one of the top emerging stars and would relish the chance to compete with Cena as part of his farewell.

“I think the only fitting match that comes to mind for me is to retire John Cena, because I mean he’s going on a farewell tour from what I know. I don’t know how long he’s going to be around and stuff, or what his schedule is, but if he wants to come back and have the best possible match with the most elite talent that there is to work with that he hasn’t worked with yet that’s me. There is no one else. So if he wants to get in there and mix it up with the best of the best of the next generation, that’s going to … next five, ten years … going to step up and be leaders for this locker room, it’s me.”

Breakker won his first main roster title at SummerSlam by defeating Sami Zayn. Regardless, we will have to wait and see whether Breakker will end up retiring John Cena as his final opponent.
