Brock Lesnar hasn’t stepped inside a WWE ring since SummerSlam 2023, and while the company continues to keep him on ice, one recent fan interaction has stirred up fresh talk about his future—and it’s not sounding hopeful.
A fan on Instagram claimed to have spoken with Lesnar and alleged that The Beast Incarnate told them he had retired from in-ring competition and wouldn’t be returning to WWE. While this has not been confirmed by Lesnar or WWE in any official capacity, the post has fueled growing speculation about whether Lesnar’s legendary run is truly over.
This comes just after Lesnar was spotted at a steakhouse in Austin, Texas. When approached by a Ringside News correspondent and asked about a potential return to WWE, Lesnar reportedly gave a vague response: “We’ll see.” That brief answer only added to the mystery surrounding his current status.
Lesnar was removed from all WWE creative plans after he was referenced in the lawsuit filed by Janel Grant against Vince McMahon, WWE, and others. Lesnar’s name being mentioned was enough for WWE to distance itself. His scheduled appearances at the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania were pulled, and creative plans involving him and GUNTHER were scrapped.
As exclusively reported by Ringside News, WWE placed Lesnar’s contract on hold. His status remains classified as a legal matter, and he will not return to WWE programming until that situation is resolved. There has been no confirmation of a release, and given his drawing power—and the risk of him jumping to AEW—it’s considered unlikely WWE would grant one.
So is Brock Lesnar really retired? Maybe. But until he or WWE makes a statement, it’s all speculation.
UPDATE: The original poster removed this posting after it was found to be a fabricated story.
